Job Description: The Fuel Tanker Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of fuel to designated locations. The driver must operate the tanker in accordance with company-approved procedures, road safety regulations, and health, safety, security, and environmental requirements. The role also includes conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining trip records, and ensuring that all fuel-loading and unloading activities are completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Transport fuel safely to assigned locations according to the approved journey plan.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tanker and report any defects immediately.
- Ensure the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of fuel.
- Follow company policies, Journey Management System requirements, and safety instructions.
- Maintain accurate trip, delivery, fuel, and vehicle inspection records.
- Monitor the condition of the vehicle and ensure it is kept clean and roadworthy.
- Report accidents, delays, vehicle faults, spills, or safety concerns to management.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and approved operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- A valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence is required.
- Candidates should be between 25 and 35 years old.
- Practical experience in fuel transportation, tanker operations, or trailer driving is preferred.
- Knowledge of defensive driving and road-safety procedures is required.
- Candidates must be able to follow health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Good communication and basic record-keeping skills are required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel to different locations is necessary.
- Priority will be given to candidates holding an OPAL Driving Licence or relevant OPAL certification.
